WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND – U.S. Senate Republican candidate Bob Flanders released the following statement on yesterday’s Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of President Trump’s travel
“Today’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling is a victory for the rule of law, and our country’s national security. The travel ban addresses legitimate national security and foreign policy concerns by restricting travel from eight nations: Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Chad, North Korea, and some individuals from Venezuela. Despite legal challenges from lower courts, the Supreme Court justices have said the Trump administration can certainly put this policy into full effect to protect Americans.”
On Monday afternoon two unsigned one-page orders were released by the nine-member high court. The Supreme Court and appeals courts in Richmond, Va., and San Francisco, Ca., are scheduled to hear arguments later this week.
Flanders will be a guest on 1540AM WADK | Newport tomorrow, Wednesday, December 6, to discuss why he is running to be Rhode Island’s next U.S. senator.
