CUMBERLAND, R.I. – Former Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, Judge Robert Flanders, was endorsed Thursday evening by the Cumberland Republican Town Committee.
The endorsement occurs before the June 27th Republican nominating convention, and marks the fourth endorsement Judge Flanders has received, following the endorsements of the East Greenwich, Newport, and Warwick Republican Town Committees.
“The Cumberland Republican Town Committee endorsed Judge Flanders for U.S. Senate last evening,” said Marion O’Brien, Chairwoman of the Committee. “The strong consensus is that Judge Flanders’s experience in negotiating and working with both sides of the table to get things done will serve Rhode Island well. The bottom line is who can beat Sheldon Whitehouse – and that answer is Judge Bob Flanders. Judge Flanders is a man of integrity, honesty, and a principled public servant who will put Rhode Island first. It would be a honor to have Judge Flanders represent Rhode Island in the U.S. Senate. He would make us proud of our state – and actually get things done,” O’Brien added.
Additional endorsement decisions are slated to be announced. The Rhode Island Republican Party State Central Committee will convene on June 27th to endorse the party’s statewide candidates.FacebookTwitterGoogle +
